Questions for the Candidates

As we all prepare ourselves for another Federal election, it

occurred to some of us at the Cottage that women may have some questions for our three candidates for the electorate of Macquarie.

All three are women (a first for this electorate!). Would you like to ask questions of any or each of the candidates?

The Women’s Cottage is preparing a special newsletter edition with your questions and the candidate’s answers before the election.

Don’t miss out on an opportunity to ask your federal

candidates about issues that are important to you in your local area.

Carmel McCullum— Greens Candidate

Carmel is delighted to again stand for the Greens in the NSW

directly threatens our precious local environment. The Greens' climate change policy is based on science, not developed as a result of

lobbying by the big carbon polluters.” .

understanding of the pressures on the health system . She has lived in the Blue Mountains for many years and is very active in the Parents and Citizens organisation at a State level (Sourced at http://www.greens.org.au/macquarie).

Louise Markus— Liberal Candidate

Louise and husband have been blessed with two beautiful children, Joshua and Hannah. “Her previous career as the manager of a family counselling centre and supervisor of social workers in 14 regional

offices across Western Sydney brought me in close contact with the community. It showed me that not everybody has it easy and reminded me that many people, through no fault of their own, get a tough deal in life and need a bit of help and understanding”.
